It was a bronze finish for the Central Alberta U19AA Sting at the annual AA Ice Breaker Tournament in Lacombe over the weekend.

The Sting finished first in their round robin pool play with wins over the St. Albert Mission 6-3 and the TORL Force 6-2.

Sting Scorers were Mckenna Causey with two, Emily LeMasurier with two and Shae Lyn Baxter and Makenna Tonery adding singles in the 6-3 victory.

Against the Force, Sting scorers were Baxter 2, LeMasurier 2, Sydney Cherniak and Melissa Mistuka adding singles.

The Sting then lost their semi-final game to Calgary U19AA 4-2 in a hard fought battle.

Scoring for the STING were Baxter and LeMasurier.

The Sting then played the Mission in the Bronze Medal Game.

The STING came out of top with a 5-0 victory.

Scoring for the Sting were Brenna Parent with two, and singles from Mackenzie Lindholm, LeMasurier and Baxter.

Getting the shut out was Rebecca Forrester.


The U14AA Central Alberta Sting finished the round robin with a 0-2-1 record.


The U16 AA Sting finished in 5th with a 7-5 win over the St. Albert Mission.
