The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings volleyball team is participating in this year’s “Movember” by sporting moustaches to raise awareness for things like prostate and testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Since November 1st the team has been growing their facial hair in support of Movember.

Head Coach Aaron Schulha explained that college men like to do it because it gives them a reason to grow out their moustaches and beards.

“This is really important to our group. I think we all have been impacted in one way or another, so it is the matter of giving back a little and showing that we are doing the right things in the community. It is really good for the guys to be giving back to the community that has supported them over the years whether it was with donations to the program or just coming out on gameday and cheering us on,” said Schulha.

The team has been fundraising and raising awareness for a number of years in honour of their dads, brothers, sons, and friends in their lives.
