Kalan Lind scored with under two seconds left in the third period for a game winning goal and a 3-1 series lead against the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Over 4300 fans at The Peavey Mart Centrium were getting ready for another overtime game when Lind surprised everyone.

Red Deer would get on the scoreboard first with a short handed goal from Jhett Larson at the 8:30 mark in the first frame. Medicine Hat would then tie the game just a couple minutes later.

The second period was back and forth with a Rebs goal from Carson Birnie at 6:54, but just two minutes later the Tigers would once again tie it up. At the end of the second period the score was 2-2.

There was no scoring in the third until the Tiger's Hunter St. Martin took a two-minute cross-checking minor. Red Deer would take advantage on the power play and with just 1.7 seconds left, Kalan Lind would take a pass from Rebels star Kai Uchacz and score the game winning goal.

Rebels Goalie, Chase Wutzke, was named first star of the game after stopping 33 of 35 shots.

Game five will go Friday night in Medicine Hat at 7:00 pm. If necessary game 6 will return to Red Deer on Sunday for an early 2:00 pm start at The Peavey Mart Centrium.
