It wasn't the ending the Red Deer Rebels were looking for, as they were swept after a 7-0 loss Wednesday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium.

Just over 4,400 fans watched as the Saskatoon Blades dominated game four to sweep Red Deer in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal.

Once again, the Rebels had to rely on their rookie goaltender Taylor Tabashniuk, after goalies Rhett Stoesser and Chase Wutzke were both down with injuries.

Despite hard play by Red Deer, they just couldn't stop the puck from going in. The Blades would score 4 goals in the first, 2 in the second and a final nail in the coffin in the third.

Unfortunately, it would also be the final WHL games for three overage players Carson Latimer, Elias Carmichael and superstar Kai Uchacz.

Longtime Rebel's announcer Kevin Watson also announced that it would be his final game after 13 years on the microphone.

The final day of business for this year's team will be Friday for the locker room cleanout and exit interviews.
