Future Lacombe grads went home Saturday with the prom dress of their dreams.
Western Financial Group in Lacombe hosted a Gown Extravaganza and had over 50 dresses for girls to choose from, free of charge.
Shaelynn Kumm was one grad who found the perfect dress. Her mom Celina had a hard time holding her emotions back.
“Being a single mom, it’s very difficult and of course with the economy and the way it is right now. To have something like this to access, I think this community is amazing for it.”
Manager of Western Financial Group Rochelle Wilson said it was great seeing the reactions of the girls when finding the perfect dress.
“Just to make that girl feel special, it doesn’t matter what stage of life your in or what your financial situation is. It’s always nice to feel like a princess and just find that dress that fits you to a tee.”
It was the first Gown Extravaganza and the plan is to make it an annual event.
