The Sylvan Lake RCMP have been actively investigating a home invasion that occurred on August 7 and are now seeking public assistance for tips.

At approximately 9:30 p.m, on the evening of August 7, two males rang the doorbell at a residence on Leaside Crescent.  The 65-year-old female home owner opened the door and the males came into the residence and assaulted the female.  The males were looking for cash and other items, and ultimately left without finding what they were looking for.

The two males were described as follows:

Suspect #1

-          Caucasian, late 30s

-          Very tall with a shaved head

-          Wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans

Suspect #2

-          Possibly East Indian descent

-          Shorter than Suspect #1

-          Short dark hair

The female victim, who was the lone occupant in the house, was punched several times by one of the males, but has luckily incurred no long term injury.

Information gleaned during the course of this investigation lead the RCMP to believe that this was a targeted home invasion.

While the descriptions provided above may be scarce in detail, the RCMP are confident that someone in the public may know about this incident, and have information for the RCMP.  Anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or activities in that area on the evening of August 7 may have valuable information.
