Red Deer RCMP have charged the second of two men who assaulted a woman after she located them in her stolen car on December 14.

The suspect was identified through a series of unrelated investigations after he was arrested attempting to flee from a hit and run incident in a stolen truck on December 20; the stolen Ford F150 struck several parked vehicles in the Glendale neighbourhood, and the two male occupants then attempted to flee on foot. RCMP officers contained the area and Police Dog Services located one of the suspects hiding in a residential yard on Northey Avenue.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect had a counterfeit Canadian $100 in his possession. Through the course of the investigation, RCMP determined the suspect was also a suspect in a gas and dash and assault on a staff person earlier the same day at a gas station in the East Hill area. The suspect has further been identified as the second suspect in the vehicle theft and assault on a woman on December 14.
