On February 17th, 2017 at 6:42 pm RCMP officers responded to a complaint of a male armed with a handgun in the Glendale area of Red Deer.

Officers set up containment and within a short period of time the suspect male was arrested without further incident.

The suspect was found in possession of a replica handgun.

Formal charges are pending as the investigation continues and names are not being released at this time.

RCMP will issue an update when more information is available, and thank the public for their cooperation.
