UPDATED: A new Mayor and familiar faces for The Town of Sylvan Lake

NOTE: These results have been updated with the complete unofficial results on October 21, 2021. 

With the resignation of Sean McIntyre earlier this year, Sylvan Lakers knew they would be voting for a new Mayor for the town. As of midnight last night, that new Mayor is now former councillor Megan Hanson. Hanson  beat Ted Iverson last night in the 2021 Municipal election.

Unofficial voting results for mayor:

Megan Hanson  2,880 (Unofficially new Mayor of Sylvan Lake)

Ted Iverson  434

With all of the ballots counted, including advance voting, it looks like there will be a lot of familiar faces back on The Town of Sylvan Lake Council. Kendall Kloss, Tim Mearns, Graham Parsons, Jas Payne, and Teresa Rilling have all returned to Council,. One new name to council is Kjeryn Dakin. The official results will be released by the Returning Officer at Twelve Noon on the fourth day after Election Day, in accordance with the Legal Authorities Election Act.
