After complaints that a dog fell through the ice on the storm water pond at the Dog Park last week, the City of Lacombe says they are investigating and looking into a number of options for a permanent solution.

Currently there is temporary fencing around the water to prevent further issues.

Communications Coordinator Deven Kumar says with the unseasonably warm weather, residents are advised to keep themselves and their pets away from the storm water pond.

“The ice may become unstable at any time,” Kumar said.

“We also remind residents to please obey all posted signs and anyone using the ice surface on a storm water pond, does so at their own risk.”

Kumar adds if anyone has any concerns to contact the city directly.
