The Town of Sylvan Lake has approved the 2021 Municipal Budget.

The 2021 budget includes a 0% municipal tax rate increase for both residential and non-residential properties, making this the second consecutive year in which municipal taxes have not changed.

Highlights within the budget include:

  • No utility rate or franchise fee increases
  • Increased visitor pay parking fees for the 2021 Visitor Pay Parking Program
  • Introduction of an online Citizen Portal
  • A continuation of the Skate Park Ambassador Program, which was a successful pilot project late last summer/fall.

*When final assessments numbers are known and the provincial school tax requisitions are received, the tax rate bylaw will come to Council for approval in April 2021. Combined tax and assessment notices are sent out at the end of May, with taxes due on July 31, 2021.
