Grant applications to support community-led initiatives in Red Deer are now open.

The Downtown Activation 4 Seasons Grant provides financial support for community-led projects supported by local not-for-profit organizations that increase attraction to downtown.

“We all have a role to play in contributing to the vitality we want to experience when visiting the downtown,” said Bobby-Jo Stannard, Community Development Superintendent. “This funding opportunity empowers citizens to take action alongside the city to support the goals of the Downtown Activation Playbook, which defines what a vibrant downtown looks like for Red Deer and provides guidance for both the city and community towards its realization.”

Initiatives that leverage partnerships and take place outside the summer event season will be prioritized and applications will be evaluated based on the following eligibility criteria:

  • Contributions to four seasons activation strategy with a focus on spring, fall, and winter activations

  • Enlivens the streets with short-term attractions
