Sunny 94 has partnered with Central Alberta Rescue Effort Shelter (C.A.R.E.S) to bring you Pet of the Week! Each Wednesday we feature a new, super friendly, totally adoptable dog or cat. We’ll tell you a bit about them in hopes you’ll go to CARES, meet them, fall in love, and take them home with you!

This is Lizzie!

Well hello there, my name is Lizzie and I’m a mixture of Chihuahua and... well… no one’s quite sure what else I’m mixed with! Whatever it is, though, I’m pretty darn cute! I’m 2 years old and weigh a whopping 9 pounds! I come from a high-kill shelter down in the southern United States and I’m SO thankful the ladies at CARES gave me a second chance at life!

I really love playing outside! If you were to adopt me it would be a really good idea to have a yard of some sort for me to run in! Or, be willing to take me on plenty of walks to burn off my energy. I’m not exactly a puppy so chewing on things and clawing furniture just isn’t my thing anymore! The ladies at CARES will tell you when you come to meet me that I’m incredibly sweet. I’ll lick your hand, your face, and the food that you drop on the floor!

I like kids! And I also get along really well with other dogs, big or small! With many small dogs, when there’s more than one in the home we tend to get a little territorial but with me that’s not the case! Since many of my days have been spent sharing kennels and shelters I’m pretty used to having other dogs in my ‘space’. As an added bonus, I rarely ever bark!

I’m a very healthy pooch with all my vaccinations up to date such as kennel cough and rabies. I’m microchipped, spayed, and more than ready to find my forever home here in Canada! Please come to CARES and meet me! Click HERE for more information.
