Around 4:30 am, Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for much of Central Alberta.

Rain will be at times heavy Thursday with total amounts between 40 and 60 mm likely before the rain tapers off Friday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Around you home make certain that downspouts are moving the water away from your foundation, and that sump pumps are in working order.
