If you're having a tough time affording Christmas this year, and won't be able to make a dinner for the family, you're invited to the Lacombe Community Christmas Dinner on Sunday at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

Pastor Mike Vandyk says their free dinner isn't just for people who don't have the means of making one, but for those who may not have anyone to have dinner with.

"I had a phone call from a gentleman this morning, and he said his wife is back visiting family out East, his children are out visiting the in-laws, and he's home by himself Christmas Day. So I said, come on down you are certainly most welcome."

The Bethel Christian Reformed Church is once again hosting the dinner, and Pastor Mike says it all wouldn't be possible without the fantastic volunteers who help out every year.

"One of the younger families who helps, the mom said to her kids 'We probably aren't going to help out this year' and the kids said 'Oh no! We have to help, this is just what we do. It wouldn't be Christmas if we didn't help'. So that kind of mindset and tradition of love and care is what we want to show the town.

The dinner is free, and open to everyone who would like to come.

Doors open at noon on Christmas Day at the LMC, and dinner, games, and activities will follow shorty after that.
