Red Deer RCMP have arrested a Red Deer woman for impaired driving after the car she was driving rear-ended a truck in a low-speed collision in the city this morning.

The collision occurred in the area of 54 Street and 64 Avenue shortly before 9 am this morning. A Peace Officer was in the vicinity and immediately responded to the collision, which occurred at low speeds and did not result in any injuries. Traffic was only briefly impacted, but the subsequent RCMP investigation determined the driver had a blood alcohol content of almost three times the legal limit.

A 40 year old Red Deer woman will face charges of impaired driving. Her name will not be released at this time as those charges have not been sworn before the courts.
