From RCMP Alberta Media Relations: Dec. 14th, 2017. 

Two Sylvan Lake men and one Sylvan Lake woman face trafficking charges after the Priority Crimes Task Force seized cocaine, cash and a stolen firearm during two search warrants in Sylvan Lake on December 1.

26 year old Chelsey Janyl Stanyer faces the following charges: 

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marihuana)
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cannabis Resin)
  • CDSA 4(1) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance (Oxycodone)
  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 91(2) – Possession of a prohibited weapon

Stanyer is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer at 9:30 am on January 18, 2018.

37 year old James Raymond Murray faces the following charges:

Criminal Code 86(1) – Careless storage of firearm

Criminal Code 91(1) – Possess firearm without license

Criminal Code 96(1) – Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

Murray is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer at 8:30 am on January 17, 2018.

28 year old Brook Valentine Clancy faces the following charges:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marihuana)
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cannabis Resin)
  • CDSA 4(1) – Possession of Schedule 1 substance (Oxycodone)
  • Criminal Code 355(a) – Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Criminal Code 91(2) – Possession of a prohibited weapon

Clancy is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer at 9:30 am on January 18, 2018.

The Priority Crimes Task Force executed search warrants this morning at two Sylvan Lake residences, seizing cocaine, cash and a stolen firearm and arresting three people.

At approximately 8 am this morning, police officers from Sylvan Lake RCMP, Red Deer RCMP and Red Deer Police Dog Services executed search warrants at a residence on 42 Street in Sylvan Lake and a residence on 51 Street in Sylvan Lake.

The search warrants were the result of a month-long drug trafficking investigation.

Priority Crimes Task Force members seized cocaine, cash and a rifle that had been stolen out of Strathcona County and took two men and one woman into custody without incident.

RCMP will issue an update with more details of the items seized, names of the accused and the charges laid once those charges have been sworn before the courts.

 The Priority Crimes Task Force is made up of members from Red Deer RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), Sylvan Lake, Innisfail, Blackfalds, Ponoka, Rimbey and Rocky Mountain House RCMP detachments and Lacombe Police Service. 

The task force is committed to increased inter-agency communication, shared criminal intelligence and a strategic focus on prolific property crimes offenders, in keeping with the K Division emphasis on crime reduction strategies
