Members of Social Media Breakfast Lacombe had the chance this morning to learn ways to better market their business or brand, through the use of content.

With the help of Director of Community and Content at Strong Coffee Marketing, Brian Siddle, they learned about using bite-size content as a marketing strategy.

Siddle says a lot of business owners don’t know where to start when trying to create content.

“They think content needs to be a really big deal and that you need to create elaborate videos and big blog posts. You don’t. Bite-sized pieces of content that you can share on social media, I’d rather have 20-30 of those then one or two big blog posts that maybe don’t suit your needs.”

Siddle adds it’s also important to understand who your audience is.

“The biggest thing is understanding who you audience is and having a plan beforehand. So, who are you trying to talk to, what message are you trying to send to them and make sure that message suits the audience.”

“You don’t want to talk about family things if your audience doesn’t have families, for example. The more you know about who you’re trying to talk to, the easier it is to create content that actually gets them interested.”

Social Media Breakfast Lacombe is held the first Wednesday of every second month. The next event is September 6th at Dancers Edge Studio beginning at 8am.
