Sylvan Lake residents are encouraged to drop by and provide some feedback to help the town build the future of Arts and Culture of their community.

As they prepare their Culture Master Plan, the Town of Sylvan Lake is hosting a community consultation night to hear from residents.

Once completed, the Culture Master Plan will be used to promote and grow Sylvan Lakes arts scene.

Communications Officer Joanne Gaudet says they want to know a variety of things from residents to help shape the future.

"What's important to them, what they believe to be Sylvan Lake's cultural strengths and maybe opportunities to grow and develop them a little bit more. Or what are some of the most important physical cultural resources, the types of programs, facilities or activities that our residents would like to see offered in their community."

Gaudet says they're hoping members of the art community will be able to help them with their ideas.

"We do have a pretty vibrant arts group in Sylvan. We also have a lot different galleries and events and festivals. So we're just trying to strengthen that, how can we promote it, how can we create more vibrancy within the town and grow those events."

The consultation event goes from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. tonght at the Family and Community Centre (4725 - 43rd Street).

If you can't make it, you're asked to complete a quick survey to provide some input.
