Ponoka County's Regional Fire Chief says they continue to work with an insurance company and a fire Forensic Investigator following a structure fire about 4 miles east of Ponoka on Tuesday afternoon.

Dennis Jones says it was completely engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 12:30, the Fire Department worked to keep the fire from spreading to other structures, equipment and a stack of bales on the rural property, and it ended in a complete loss of the structure.

EMS were on scene before fire crews arrived according to Jones and STARS Air Ambulance confirms they airlifted a 42 year old man with a burn related injury from the Ponoka Hospital.

He was in serious but stable condition, taken to the U of A Hospital.

Jones says they do not yet have a damage estimate and the cause remains under investigation.
