Lacombe Legion is hosting a session tonight with a local soldier who served in Afghanistan.

Bryce Talsma is a Lacombe Comp graduate who joined the Canadian Forces in 2006.

In 2008 he completed training as an Infantry Officer and was assigned to the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.

From September 2009 to April 2010 he had the distinction and honour of commanding a mechanized infantry platoon in Southern Afghanistan.

Talsma will be sharing his experiences to help bring some context to the Lacombe Afghanistan Memorial Project, which is working to create a Field of Honour in the Fairview Cemetery, with a LAV III Monument.

Tonight's talk starts at 7 pm in the Byron Greff Memorial Hall at the Legion, donations to the Memorial Project are appreciated.
