FROM ROCKY MOUNTIAN HOUSE RCMP:

On November 17th, 2017 at approximately 7:15 a.m., the Innisfail RCMP reported that two vehicles had been involved in a “gas and dash” at the Co-op gas bar in Spruce View, Alberta. One of the vehicles, a Jeep Liberty, had been reported stolen from Red Deer, Alberta. Both vehicles subsequently fled towards Caroline. The Rocky Mountain House RCMP were advised of the incident and began patrolling the area of Highway 22.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP members located both vehicles at the intersection of Highway 22 and highway 54. Police attempted to stop the vehicles at which time they sped away.

A short time later, members of the Rocky Mountain House Detachment located both vehicles on Trunk Highway 734. Officers again attempted to stop the vehicles at which time they fled. Both vehicles were eventually stopped, and all occupants were arrested. Dylan Steinbach, Katie Carpentier, Brenden Bowe and Natasha Fyfe were all located and arrested at the scene.

Numerous stolen identifications including credit cards, bank cards and cheque books were located inside the vehicles. Police also located counterfeit American and Canadian currency and equipment used to manufacture counterfeit money. A BB handgun, methamphetamine and marihuana were located in one of the vehicles.

Dylan Steinbach (24) of Innisfail, has been charged with:

-Possession of Counterfeit Money Canadian and American X2 – S.450 CC
-Produce Counterfeit Money X2 – S.449 CC
-Possession of counterfeit machine X1 – S.458(d) CC
-Drive uninsured Motor Vehicle – S.54(1)(b) CC
-Theft of fuel – S.334(b) CC

Co-accused, Katie Lynn Carpenter (19) of Red Deer, has been charged with:

-Possession of stolen Property X7 – S.355(b) CC
-Flight from Police – S.249.1(1) CC
-Possession of Counterfeit Money Canadian and American X2 – S.450 CC
-Produce Counterfeit Money X2 – S.449 CC
-Possession of counterfeit machine X1 – S.458(d) CC

Dylan Steinbach and Katie Carpentier have both been released from custody and are scheduled to appear on November 30th, 2017 in Red Deer, Provincial Court.

Brenden Darcy Bowe (26) of Red Deer, has been charged with:

- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle over $5000 – S.355(a) CC

-Possession of a weapon (BB gun) for Dangerous Purpose- S.88 CC

-Dangerous Operation of a MV – S.249(1)(a) CC
-Breach Recognizance X6 – S.145(3) CC
-Operate MV with no insurance – S.54(1)(a) CC
-Operate an unregistered MV – S.52(1)(a) CC
-Theft of Fuel – S.334(b) CC – Innisfail file

Brenden Bowe was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear on November 22nd, 2017, via CCTV.

Co-accused, Natasha Fyfe (32) of Three Hills has been charged with:

- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle over $5000 – S.355(a) CC
-Possession of Stolen Property X 13 – S.355(b) CC

-Possession of a weapon (BB gun) for Dangerous Purpose- S.88 CC

-Possession of Marihuana – S.4(1) CDSA

Natasha Fyfe was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on November 29th 2017, in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court.
