Following their long tradition of working together with community groups, the RCMP detachment in Rimbey is planning to put together a Community Consultative Group of their own.

The goal is to consult with stakeholders within the detachment area to identify and address the needs of the community.

Cst. Luke Giles with the Rimbey RCMP says he wants the group to be made up of all different levels of the community.

“We want to get one person from each area of the community, like someone who represents youth, seniors, business owners, local agencies, schools, and other community members.”

Cst. Giles says this is one of the best ways RCMP members and community members can get on the same page.

“We would meet together and then see what the people in the detachment feel our priorities should be, and help us establish those priorities.”

The group will meet approximately twice a year, or when issues arise, to discuss their priorities and progress.

For more information on how to get involved, you can phone the Rimbey RCMP detachment at 403-843-2224, and ask for or phone Cst. Luke Giles.
