RCMP arrested a Red Deer man over the weekend after locating him with a large amount of hunting equipment and identification that had been stolen out of Camrose along with a truck.

On January 14 at 4:20 pm, RCMP located a suspicious male in downtown Red Deer and determined that the large duffle bag he carried contained identification and other documents belonging to someone else, as well ammunition, binoculars, a camera, a spotting scope and other hunting equipment.

The items had been in a truck that was reported stolen out of Camrose early that morning.

25 year old Joseph Murdock Hayden faces the following charges:

· Criminal Code 117.01(1) – Possess firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
· Criminal Code 129(a) – Resist/ obstruct police
· Criminal Code 354 – Possess stolen property under $5,000

Hayden made his first court appearance on January 16 and will appear in court again in Red Deer on January 23 at 9:30 am.
