Red Deer RCMP are looking for the owner of some tools that appear appropriate for working on heavy duty equipment.

The tools were located in the back of a truck that was stolen out of Red Deer on March 1 and then recovered abandoned in Red Deer on March 7.

RCMP believe it’s likely the theft of tools occurred sometime within that March 1 to 7 timeframe, but have not been able to match the recovered items to any reports of tool thefts.

Police feel the items are unique enough that their owner may recognize them from the description and come forward to claim them.

The tools were recovered in the back of the stolen truck; many of the tools were contained in drawers that appear to belong to a metal filing cabinet as well as in drawers that appear to belong to a chest-sized tool box.

Items recovered include a large compressed oxygen tank, a foot-operated hydraulic pump, and numerous smaller items such as ratchets that appear suitable for mechanical work on heavy duty equipment.

If you were the victim of the theft of heavy duty equipment tools, please contact Red Deer RCMP Exhibits staff at 403-406-2574 from Monday to Thursday between 8 am and 6 pm and Friday between 8 am and 3:30 pm. You will be asked to provide descriptions and details of the various items to prove ownership.
