From Lacombe Police Service:

On December 16, 2017, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Lacombe Police Service members responded to a hold up alarm at Downtown Wine and Liquor, located at Unit #109 - 5001 52 Street in Lacombe.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a lone male had entered the business, at which time he jumped the front counter, threatened the store clerk with a large knife and demanded money.

The male then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After further investigation, 33-year-old Gregory Kyle ROHWER of Red Deer was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Canadian Criminal Code:

- Robbery – One (1) count

- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon – One (1) count 

-Assault With a Weapon– One (1) count.

ROHWER has been remanded into custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for January 2, 2018, at the Red Deer Provincial Court.
