Red Deer RCMP have concluded their search along the Red Deer River after a report from a concerned citizen that a man may have entered the river at the Gaetz Avenue bridge.

RCMP searched the riverbanks in the area of Gaetz Avenue bridge and downstream from the bridge at Three Mile Bend, and City of Red Deer Fire and Rescue staff attended and searched the river in their rescue boat.

RCMP and City Fire and Rescue staff did not locate anyone in distress during their searches, and police concluded their search shortly before 4 pm.

 


 

Red Deer RCMP are currently searching the banks of the Red Deer River in the area of the Gaetz Avenue bridge and at Three Mile Bend after a report from the public that a man may have entered the water at the Gaetz Avenue bridge.

The report came in shortly after 1:30 pm today, and RCMP are currently working to verify whether a person did enter the river.
