Red Deer RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an alleged assault of a minor at a playground on Sunday, Sept. 5. 

At 5:45 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a male youth who had been assaulted at the G.H. Dawe School playground on the east side of the facility. The victim was playing when an adult male approached and physically assaulted him. The child was injured in the altercation and EMS was dispatched.

The male suspect is described as:

  • Tall and muscular
  • Approximately 6’2
  • Approximately 35-40 years old
  • Yellow, red and green hair
  • Long beard

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing dark pants, a black hoody, and yellow shoes. He was also riding a yellow-orange bike.

At this time, the Red Deer RCMP does not believe the suspect is known to the victim.
