From Rocky RCMP: Feb. 8th, 4:30pm.

On February 7, 2018 the Rocky Mountain House RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in O’Chiese First Nations and have arrested 41-year-old Trena YELLOWFACE and 43-year-old Gordon ROWSELL.

In the early morning hours of January 28, 2018, a break and enter into Caroline Supplies was reported to the Rocky Mountain House RCMP. The suspects were reported to have fled in an older brown F-150.  Assistance was requested from the RCMP in identifying suspects and locating a brown F-150.

The older brown F-150 has been located and seized by Rocky Mountain House RCMP. (Media release issued on February 2, 2018).

Trena YELLOWFACE has been charged with the following in relation to this investigation:

-       Break and enter

-       Disguise with intent

-       Theft over $5000

-       Breaking and entering to seal a firearm

The following charges are a result of the execution of the search warrant on February 7:

-       Unauthorized possession of a firearm

-       Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

-       Tampering with serial number

-       Possession of property obtained by crime

Trena YELLOWFACE has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court of Alberta in Red Deer on February 9, 2018 via CCTV.

Gordon ROWSELL has been charged with the following as a result of the execution of the search warrant February 7:

-       Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

-       Tampering with serial number

-       Possession of property obtained by crime

-       Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order

Gordon ROWSELL has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court of Alberta in Red Deer on February 9, 2018 via CCTV.

One stolen rifle and various ammunition were among other items seized during the execution of the search warrant.

“It’s always a good thing to remove stolen firearms from the community”, says Sergeant Jay Penner, “We’re grateful to the public for bringing any suspicious activities to our attention, assisting us in working towards having safer communities.”

The RCMP continue to actively investigate and seek another suspect in this armed robbery.  A further update will be provided when RCMP have information to release.

The Rocky Mountain House RCMP is continuing to investigate a break, enter, and theft which occurred at Caroline Supplies, in Caroline, Alberta in the early morning hours of January 28, 2018. As a result of a number of tips that have come in from the public, police issued a warrant and have arrested Joel BAPTISTE (42) of the Clearwater County area.
 
Joel BAPTISTE has been charged with:
  • Break, enter, and theft
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Theft under $5000
  • Theft of firearms
  • Breach of a recognizance
BAPTISTE was remanded in custody and will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on February 6, 2018.
 
Police have located the older brown Ford F-150 described as the suspect vehicle however, are still seeking assistance from the public in identifying the three remaining suspects whose faces are covered in the attached photograph.
