From Ponoka RCMP:

On Sept 18, 2018 at 12:48 a.m., Ponoka RCMP received a call of a suspicious vehicle on 51 Street and 64 Avenue in Ponoka. Police located the vehicle and further investigation revealed it had been previously been reported stolen from Wetaskiwin County.

The vehicle fled after police activated emergency equipment, but was located a short time later. Two males were arrested and are alleged to have committed break and enters in Wetaskiwin. The vehicle was searched and nine firearms were located and seven are believed to be stolen.

Kirk Illya Kuske (42) of no fixed address faces numerous charges which include:

             . Possession of stolen property

             . Possession of a firearm

             . Failure to comply with a recognizance

             . Being in a vehicle without owners consent

             . Obstruction

Clyde Oran Rabbit (23) of no fixed address faces numerous charges which include:

              . Possession of a firearm while prohibited

              . Failure to comply with a recognizance

              . Failure to comply with a probation order

              . Possession of a weapon while prohibited

              . Obstruction

In total there were 98 charges laid between Kuske and Rabbit.

Both  accused were remanded into custody and will appearing in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Sept. 20, 2018.
