As Powpow and Sons looks to move ahead with plans to streamline their operations in one location on 46th Street, there's an open house tomorrow night dealing with amendments to the Southeast Lacombe Area Structure Plan which are needed for the project to be approved.

Tricon Developments will have display boards and renderings on hand to show the proposed improvements, Jason Bell with Tricon explains the 3 phases.

"The first phase is going to consist of uplifting the existing auto-wrecking shop there. Phase 2 would be to add a towing shop beside it. Then phase 3 would be to relocate the auto body shop on the other side of town to the site."

City of Lacombe Staff will also be on hand to explain how the changes to the Area Structure Plan may impact other properties and future development.

Bell also explained the process and rough timelines for the project.

"Once the open house is complete and we get some feedback from everyone who attends, we'll pass that on to the City of Lacombe. Then they'll kind of decide what the next step is. But once we get approval from the City we'd do our rezoning and subdivisions. By the time we actually start getting into development we'd be looking at late spring early summer."
