After serving one term on Council, residents have given Tammy Burke the mandate to lead as Mayor.

Burke defeated Shelia Mizera by just 50 votes.

With a number of fresh faces set to take a seat at the Council table, Burke has a goal to enhance a positive relationship between Town Council and the community.

“Work together, I can’t stress that enough that we have to work together. We have to communicate better with our public. I really want to form a really open Council and try and get some more public participation that would be really, really great if I could see that”.

There's one other priority that's at the top of her agenda.

“Future growth of our community is very important; we definitely need to look at some new business development, economic growth”.

Burke will be leading a new Council with the exception of Jason Alderson who was re-elected; he'll be joined at the Council table by Len Phillips, Michelle Narang, Scott Collinson, Merrin Fraser and Randy Brown.
