UCP MLA for Lacombe-Ponoka, Ron Orr says this new information from the federal government is going to create some extensive confusion for the upcoming election.

The Opposition Conservatives are still demanding the prime minister resign following the explosive testimony from former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould before the Commons justice committee.

She testified that she was pressured "inappropriately'' and relentlessly by Prime Minister Trudeau's office and others while she led his justice portfolio to cut a deal to halt the criminal prosecution of Montreal engineering giant SNC-Lavalin.

Orr says this new information will definitely affect how people will be looking at the Liberal party.

“It’s going to be a rollercoaster for every party, and It’s going to be very historic time to watch this all unfold, I think Albertans need to just keep in mind that what we really need to focus on here is getting people back to work.”

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says Justin Trudeau no longer holds the moral authority to govern.

He is also demanding a public inquiry into the matter and an R-C-M-P investigation.

“Canadians clearly want answers,” explains Orr, “I think Wilson-Raybould’s testimony is very interesting, we need to wait until the process unfolds to make a prediction on where this is going to go.”

Trudeau says he disagrees with Wilson-Raybould's account, and that he and his staff always acted appropriately in a bid to protect thousands of jobs.
