With a curriculum that is up to 30 years old, the province says an update has been put off for far too long.

Premier Notley and Education Minister David Eggen launched an initiative yesterday they’re calling “Future Ready”, engaging parents and concerned Albertans in curriculum development at all grade levels in the six core subject areas.

Eggen kicked off a series of face to face discussions at a Town Hall Meeting last night at Father Henri Voisin School in Red Deer.

The Minister says good jobs start with a good education.

“It’s part of a diverse and healthy economy to make a strong emphasis on education. It’s something we’ve started at the beginning as a government and we intend to carry on in collaboration with the general public to build a strong curriculum.”

Eggen will continue to connect with parents across the province, there’s also an online survey where you can provide curriculum feedback until November 18th.
