A Blackfalds resident has organized a memorial service at the town Multiplex Friday night honouring the Humboldt Broncos.

“This is just for the community to come together to show our support to everyone who’s been touched by this tragedy. It shows that solidarity. Everybody’s welcome, not just Blackfalds community members. It’s anybody who wants to come and pay respects,” says Louise Rellis.

Rellis says that all over, somebody knows somebody who was touched by the fatal bus crash that has now killed 16 and injured 13 others.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Rellis encourages guests to wear a jersey or dress in the Broncos’ colours, green and yellow. There will also be a condolence book for people to sign.

Red Deer-Lacombe MP Blaine Calkins and Lacombe-Ponoka MLA Ron Orr are expected to be among those speaking.
