From the City of Lacombe:

The recent Alberta Government announcement of nearly $50 million in funding to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant in Red Deer is welcome news for the City of Lacombe.

“We are proud to support our regional partners in providing safe and sustainable wastewater infrastructure to safeguard the health and welfare of central Albertans,” said Mayor Grant Creasey. “This significant investment will help maintain the high environmental standards put in place to treat wastewater before it is released back into the watershed.”

“It’s great to see this investment in the Central Alberta Regional Wastewater System,” said Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Goudy. “Knowing that increased treatment capacity will be in place for our members is comforting, as we continue to experience significant growth in the region.”

The Red Deer Wastewater Treatment Plant collects and processes wastewater that comes from residential, commercial and industrial wastewater collection systems around the region.
