From Lacombe and District FCSS:

A great local partnership! Thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Lacombe Daybreak, Lacombe FCSS was able to purchase 14 new Philips Lifeline Units.

Lacombe and District FCSS is committed to strengthening and enhancing family and community Life.

Carlene Wagner, FCSS Senior Services Coordinator reports: “Philips Lifeline Personal Response Service is one of the many programs in this organization that strives to do just that. With over 100 individuals utilizing this service within the City of Lacombe, we are able to offer the safety and security of available assistance anytime, thus allowing citizens to remain active in their own homes longer”.

Clients have the option of 3 different personal help buttons available, both within and outside of one’s home, people can choose a button to match their lifestyle.

A local resident was recently a recipient of one of these new units.  She is a longtime supporter of Rotary’s community service in Lacombe and appreciates their contribution to many programs in our community; including their recent support of Lacombe FCSS Lifeline Services.

“I am very pleased that FCSS is responsible for offering Philips Lifeline Services in our community and I feel reassured that there is help available if I should need it.”

Having experienced a recent fall herself, she chose the Auto Alert button which detects a fall atomically with the option to press the button for assistance as well.

“It is a safety precaution for me and reassuring to my family. Thank you Rotary Club of Lacombe Daybreak for helping Lacombe FCSS to provide these supports to people in our community.”

Norm Noordhof, President of the Rotary Daybreak Club says: “the Club is always looking for ways to be of service to our local community and this project allows us to partner with FCSS to help someone feel safe in their home, so it’s a win-win situation.”
