Good news for the majority of paved roads in Lacombe County, as they have recently been assessed to be in good condition, with no major paving projects on the books this year.

Next year there will be looking a few roads that have fallen below standard.

Manger of Operations for Lacombe County Phil Lodermeier says a few of those roads have seen an increase in traffic which require the upgrade from gravel to pavement.

“There’s a lot of traffic, in particular at Sandy Point this year, with the beach area, the boat launch, new campground, plus the people that live in the Sandy Point complex. There’s a lot of traffic on those roads, in particular on weekends and nice days when it gets pretty busy.”

The county must speak with some developers in the Sandy Point and DeGraffe areas in order to finalize arrangements before paving can take place.

Other paving projects in the works for 2018 Lacombe County include Centerview Road, the Hamlet of Rosedale, and the country residential subdivision of Fairbrother.
