On October 27th, 2017, the Lacombe and District FCSS went to Lacombe County with a request to help them pay for part of their valuable Lifeline service they provide.

The FCSS asked for $5, 293 to be paid annually to help offset their costs, something Manager of Corporate Service for the County Tim Timmons says they will have to look at further before approving, to make sure the service covers the entire County.

“They’ve (Council) actually asked administration to provide them with additional information relative to whether the Lifeline program operated through the Lacombe FCSS, actually provides support to residents of the Eckville and Alix areas, or whether or not other FCSS agencies are responsible for that.”

That information will be brought back to council prior to their budget deliberations later this month or early December, and the request will also be considered during the 2018 budget planning.

The Lifeline program currently has 112 clients, 19 of which are in rural Lacombe County.
