On May 19th, 2017, Members of the Lacombe Police Service in conjunction with the Alberta Sheriffs conducted a roadside check stop within the city of Lacombe.

During this 2 hour period, a total of 300 vehicles were stopped and checked.

The results are as follows:

- One (1) seizure was made under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

- Four (4) drivers failed to produce valid vehicle insurance.

- Three (3) offences were identified under the Gaming and Liquor Act.

- One (1) driver was found to be operating a vehicle with no insurance

- One (1) driver failed to produce valid vehicle registration

"Our Check stops will continue to run throughout the year as part of our Service's commitment to Community safety as well as continuing to be part of the Provincial Enhanced Alberta Check stop Program" commented Chief Lorne Blumhagen.

The Enhanced Alberta Check stop Program is a joint force operation between the Alberta Government and Alberta Police Services with funding from the province.

During these check stops Police Officers are specifically dedicated to removing impaired drivers from Alberta roads.
