A young Blackfalds business man remains hard at work, all with one goal in mind, to help people who are sick.

Haylen Astalos has been running a pop up ice-cream shop for two years now, he's currently marketing some special cards just in time for Christmas which for $2 entitles the reciever to a free ice cream or hot chocolate, with all proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House.

At the age of 7, Haylen is driven, he's even set some goals for his little business "I'm at $3,173, my goal is $7,018.  I just set a whole bunch of goals and when I reach it I go to the Ronald McDonald House and I take it in".

In just two years Haylen has already raised $13,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.

His efforts were recognized last year with a Great Kids Award from the province.

You can visit Haylen's Ice Cream Shop on Facebook  to purchase a gift card for an ice cream or hot chocolate.

Nominations are currently open for the 2017 Great Kids Awards, nominations can be made by visiting greatkids.alberta.ca, the deadline is December 16th.
