A well-used recreational facility in Lacombe is undergoing a review, as the City reaches out to the public for their feedback on what's working now and what they would like to see in the future at the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre.

An online survey launched this week and the City, in partnership with a consulting group will host some focus groups next week to also engage some community discussions.

Recreation and Culture Manager Sandi Stewart says they've definitely had questions from the public given the recent improvements at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex.

“Of course with the Sportsplex going under a big renovation as far as bringing everything up to code, there was other questions that came up, how come this isn’t being changed, or how come you’re not doing anything with that, so those things also helped initiate that we do need to look at things a little deeper and that we do need to get a few things out on the table and see what we should be planning for in the future”.

Stewart is asking you to take a few minutes to complete their online survey as they seek feedback in a number of areas.

“Things we’re doing right, things we need to improve, get information from them on their ideas as far as if they would really like to see our existing amenities changed or altered, if there are new amenities they would like to see brought into the pool, and of course what activities, programs, special events that we could be doing better and bring in other new ones”.

Focus groups are scheduled on Friday, May 19th, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex, sign up here

You have until May 26th to complete the online survey.
