Fire investigators will be combing through what's left of a home in Mirror today (Mar 22nd) following a fire overnight.  Lacombe County Fire Chief Drayton Bussiere explains what volunteer fire crews from Mirror, Alix and Clive were called out to.

“Initially crews were dispatched to a structure fire in Mirror; initial call had smoke and flames visible at the time, it was actually ca lled in by one of the neighbours and when crews arrived on scene, that’s what they had, they had already had fire actually through the roof and a significant amount of fire involvement inside the house”.

The single family home at the corner of 46th Street and Highway 50 is likely a total loss.

Bussiere says members were on scene all night.

“One of the things we have to do if we’re going to do an investigation is secure the scene so we have crews who have been doing that through the night.  But crews were on scene and dealing with the actual fire called out about 12:30 until about 4-4:30am)".

He adds the home was unoccupied and there's no indication yet of how or where in the home the blaze started.
