Lacombe's Downtown Business Community has created a Facebook Group, in hopes of opening up communication and promoting one another.

1000 Words Photography Owner Deanna Nowachin came up with the idea, and Cilantro and Chive Owner Reiley Kay helped get the ball rolling.

Kay says the ultimate goal by every business owner is to get a customer to come back a second time, and with more communication between businesses more customers will return.

"So whether they come to us, Sweet Capones, Leto's, or The Station, maybe next time they come to town and check out the Primrose Boutique and have great experience so they stop in here with us. We might not capture them every time they visit, but then there's more likelihood of us capturing them down the road because they're more likely to come visit this awesome little downtown."

Kay says with so many owners busy running their stores, and so many different schedules, they were finding it hard to meet up and talk about individual issues.

"I've handed out 80 different letters to 80 businesses ranging from accountant to legal firm. So there's so many different businesses that it might not suit everyone, but everyone can have a say and input into what's going on and what's effecting them and the challenges they see."

Kay says one thing already discussed in the group was weekend hours, and how many business owners would be willing to open up on the weekend.
