The General Manager at the Lacombe Food Bank is sending out a very grateful thank-you to everyone who supported the food bank over the holiday season.

Millie Snow says anyone who needed some help to have a Christmas meal received one thanks to many donations.

"We made up 155 hampers, and you could probably double that with people who were coming through. We gave out I'm not sure how many turkey's but everybody who got a hamper got a turkey and a gift card."

Snow says December was busier than years past with many people accessing the foodbank for the first time, both families and single people.

But it was also one of the greatest months for collection that they've seen in some time.

In terms of current needs, Snow says their shelves are in good shape, but school lunch items are always high in demand.
