In its 18th year, the CP Holiday Train will be rolling through Central Alberta this week.

Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock the train will be stopping in Lacombe with Canadian Country music star Dallas Smith playing a free concert, and the Odds are back to perform again too. but this year at a new location.

This year, the Lacombe stop will be held in a new location at the Len Thompson Fishing Pond.

With limited parking in the area, BOLT Transit will shuttle you from the No Frill's parking lot between 1 and 3:30.

There is also additional parking beside the ball diamonds on Woodland Drive, and along the south section of Len Thompson Drive.

The concert and BOLT ride is completely free, but you're encouraged to bring out a non-perishable food donation for the Lacombe Foodbank. 

The CP Holiday Train will also make a stop in Blackfalds at 12:45 Wednesday on the CP tracks at Gregg Street between Broadway Avenue and East Avenue, the train will arrive in Ponoka at 3:45 at 50th Street and 47th Avenue and in Wetaskiwin at 5:30 at the CP Building, 4009 50th Street.

On Friday the Holiday Train swings back through Central Alberta with a stop in Innisfail at 1:15 at the 50th Street and Highway 54 crossing.

For the first time ever the train is stopping in Olds at 2:35 on Friday at the 50th Street level crossing and the train is also set to arrive in Didsbury at 3:45 at 19th Street and 18th Avenue.

All food and monetary donations collected at each stop stay in each locat community to help feed those in need.
