Star of Baywatch, Under Siege, and the Beverly Hillbilly’s movie Erika Eleniak was here at the Sunny 94 studios last week, filming a scene for the independent film Cor Values, which is about a young reporter heading back to her home town to investigate a murder.

One scene for the film was shot here at our studios on Friday, December 1st, with a crew of at least 20 people turning our upstairs office space into the set of a small town newspaper.

They have been filming around Central Alberta for the past month, but Elaniak has a strong connection to Alberta, as her father was born in Edmonton, and she even lived in Calgary for 8 and half years after filming the movie Snowbound there in 2001.

“I did a film there and I had been wanting to get out of LA for a long time, a mountain girl at heart, always. So I just fell in love with Calgary and the people, I mean it’s just warm. Even landing over the airport, that tapestry has such a warm feeling, it’s just very homey.”

She says she was drawn to the friendly and warm vibes of our province.

“Describing Alberta, I would say clean, beautiful, ranchy, mountainous, the vibe is grandma and grandpa’s house with warm cookies and apple juice waiting for you when you come in. I’m not equating all Albertans to grandmas and grandpas, whom I love dearly, I’m just saying there is a vibe here that’s so warm, and cozy, and loving; that’s how I would describe it.”

The film held their wrap party on Sunday, and will continue with post production into the New Year.
