In just four short hours, the Cops, Pops, and Pizza event at the Lacombe Boston Pizza was able to rake in $1,602.00, with all money raised going towards local Special Olympians.

Members of the Lacombe Police Service as well as local Special Olympians helped serve on Saturday, October 27th, and accepted donations from generous costumers.

Lacombe Police School Resource Officer Cst. Jeff Hewitt is the driving force behind this event, and once again was touched by the outpouring of support from the community, and he can’t thank them enough.

“The support from the community is amazing and I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful community.   From working in the schools I knew a few of the students working at Boston Pizza that night.  All of them mentioned what a fun event it was and are already looking forward to next year!”-

The money stays in Central Alberta mainly to the Lacombe Special Olympics and helps cover the cost of transportation and sporting events, such as bowling and lane swimming.

Lacombe currently has four athletes who will be competing in the provincial games in Calgary this February.
