It may have been the most important booth at the Lacombe Spring Trade Show, giving the community the chance to interact with city officials.

Coffee with Council held its semi-annual event on Saturday as council opened their ears to the public, whether it was to offer suggestion, concerns or just chat.

Mayor Steve Christie said they jump at the chance to interact with the community.

“Helps us make the proper decisions and that’s what we’re here for, to represent people in the community and to hear what their thoughts and their needs are.”

“We try to open ourselves up as much as we can.”

Councillor Wayne Rempel said there was a lot of positivity surrounding the event.

“We’ve had a number of people that have come and said they are really happy with how things are going and like the direction council is going.”

“It’s a great conversation to have.”

City staff gather the questions and comments received at each event and create a report for council to review.
