On July 7th, 2017 Leduc RCMP's Drug Unit concluded a lengthy investigation into a drug trafficking operation in the City of Leduc. Search warrants were executed at two Leduc homes resulting in the seizure of cocaine and methamphetamine valued at over $11,000. Police also seized several firearms and a large amount of cash.

28 year old Matthew "Titus" MCGAW-WARD of Leduc was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and multiple firearms offences amongst other drug trafficking related charges. He was released on bail pending his court appearance on August 24th, 2017.

On July 21st, 2017 two more individuals were taken into custody on charges related to this investigation.

27 year old Cory WILL of Leduc, has now been charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. He was released on bail pending his next court appearance on July 27th, 2017.

27 year old Natalia PASTORINO-GOICOCHEA of Leduc, is facing multiple charges for cocaine possession and firearms offences as a result in her involvement. She was released on a Recognizance and will appear August 3rd, 2017.

This investigation has had an impact on the City of Leduc, as well as Leduc County, and surrounding communities. The Drug Unit is tasked with pro-active enforcement of drug crimes in the City of Leduc and Leduc County.

"One of the RCMP's highest priorities is to contribute to safer homes and safer communities, says Sergeant Al Gulash, the head of Leduc RCMP's Drug Unit. "I believe that is exactly what our unit accomplished with this investigation."

On July 20, 2017 Leduc RCMP's Drug Unit concluded an investigation into drug traffickers operating in the County of Leduc.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of 23 year old Michael Mccaskill and 23 year old Sheldon Nelson, both of Edmonton, Alberta.

Upon their arrest, RCMP officers seized approximately $2000 worth of cocaine, over $1000 cash, a loaded prohibited pistol, and a small amount of marihuana.

Mccaskill and Nelson have been jointly charged for trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Mccaskill faces numerous additional weapons charges in relation to the loaded handgun found on his person.

Nelson was released on a Recognizance and is scheduled for his first court appearance on August 10th, 2017.
